Class-approved condition monitoring for marine and offshore operators
All major class societies recognize the significant advantages of condition-based maintenance (CBM) and recommend this maintenance strategy as the most effective approach for marine and offshore assets.
Class approval of condition-based maintenance (CBM)
The class approves the CBM implementation and ensures that both the organization and the Condition Monitoring Service provider work in accordance with the agreed strategy. The class can also approve CBM on individual machines, which may be introduced in a step-by-step process.
Documented condition information based on trends shows when a machine can continue to operate and when maintenance activities should be scheduled to optimize the use of resources.
With fewer open equipment inspections, operators experience fewer breakdowns and a reduction in spare part consumption.
Recognized condition monitoring service provider
SPM Marine & Offshore understands the challenges owners and operators face when implementing and maintaining a condition monitoring strategy. Since December 2014, we have held DNV approval, which allows us to support this process as an AoSS Class recognized condition monitoring service provider.
In April 2015, we received the ABS Certificate of Service Recognition in Condition Monitoring and, in November 2015, Lloyd’s Register approval.
Working with us gives marine and offshore customers a reliable way to move from time-based maintenance to condition-based maintenance and thereby reduce costs and improve equipment reliability.
